Why should I book a makeup artist for my wedding?
You spend months planning your wedding. On your big day you should be able to relax and let everyone take care of you! You also want to make sure your makeup is photo-friendly, long-lasting, timeless, fresh, flawless, and beautiful! You will also have your beautiful pictures for a lifetime... shouldn't you look your best? Yes, you should... you are worth looking timeless!

What is airbrush makeup?
Airbrush makeup is makeup that is sprayed on with an airbrush. This creates an ultra-fine mist that is able to give coverage without looking cakey or dry. Here are some advantages of airbrush makeup:
long lasting; requires little touch up's; perfect for all skin types; looks fresh and natural; and feels weightless.

I've had my makeup airbrushed before and did not like it... why would you be any different?
When applied correctly airbrush makeup should feel weightless, look natural, and be flawless. I have had extensive training in airbrush makeup to ensure that it is applied correctly and safely. I also use a high-quality makeup that is specially formulated for airbrush guns. An inexperienced makeup artist and/or not using airbrush-formulated makeup contributes to a bad experience for you and gives quality airbrush makeup, and makeup artists, a bad name.

I have sensitive skin... can I still be airbrushed?
Yes! Airbrush makeup (as well as other products I use) is oil free, has gentle ingredients, and is hypoallergenic. And thanks to your trial run, you will know how your makeup will look and feel prior to your big day.

Can you cover tattoos?
Yes. Tattoo covering is an additional charge from $25 and up, depending on the size and coloring of the tattoo. Most pieces will need to be seen before giving a quote.

How far in advance do I need to book?
For weddings, book as soon as possible! Most brides that book with BEAUTY by Bethany 6 to 18 months in advance. Using the "Contact" link, please contact me about your specific date and time.

What do I need to do to reserve my date and time?
Fill out the contact form listed (click on Contact) to receive a quote and contract for your wedding. Quotes and contracts will expire after 3 days without being completed. A completed contract and a retainer of 50% of your total balance is due to secure your date and time.

Do you travel outside of the Louisville area for brides?
Yes! I have traveled all over Kentucky and Indiana for bridal parties. I am also available for destination weddings.

Can you stay for touch-ups?
Yes! I offer a day rate so that I can stay after your initial application until the start of your reception for touchups. Inquire for further details.

What if you don't stay to do touch-ups? Will the makeup last?
Airbrush makeup is extremely long-lasting; however, all brides need to touch up their lip color and lipliner (if used), as well as use  blotting papers to minimize shine. Brides receive a complimentary touch-up kit. Lip products and additional touch-up kits are available for purchase on the wedding day for other bridal party members.

What brands of makeup do you use?
In June 2011 I started my own studio line of pro quality makeup, STELLA cosmetics. High pigment colors, excellent formulas, and shade ranges for everyone make it possible for me to keep my kit stocked with STELLA products. I have used professional makeup lines such as: Hourglass, Senna, Viseart, Natasha Denona, Danessa Myricks, Yaby, Ben Nye, NARS, Makeup Forever, and Kevyn Aucoin as well as a few favorite drugstore finds. I keep my favorites in my kit... make sure to ask me about my fave mascara! ;)

Can I purchase the makeup you use on me?
Yes, I carry all of the products I use on you in my studio! I can create a customized bridal palette which includes 1 full size airbrush touch up powder, 2 blushes, 3 eyeshadows, 1 lipstick or 1 lip gloss. All your wedding day colors in an easy to carry palette, made just for you.

On the day of your wedding I keep lipsticks and lip glosses on hand available for your bridal party to purchase for touch up's.

Do you teach lessons?
I do teach BEAUTY lessons for D.I.Y. brides, personal instruction, and beauty nights for groups.

Do you do hair?
I do hair for photoshoots (boudoir, headshots, portraits, and engagement shoots) and commercial work. I do not currently offer bridal hair but I do highly recommend a few professionals that I love and trust. They do beautiful work and can also come to you as well. Just ask me for a recommendation when you return your contract for your date.

Do you have any other suggestions for my wedding?
Definitely!

Book your hair stylist to come to you as well. This not only ensures that their focus is on you and your party but it saves you time and a trip to the salon. This is also a great way for your stylist and makeup artist to be working simultaneously. I would highly suggest you and your bridal party get ready in one place.

Eyebrows! The perfect look can not happen without perfectly groomed eyebrows. I recommend discussing your options at your trial. I prefer to create a beautifully defined brow through Henna and waxing. Booking this service before, or on the day of, your trial can help define your brows for your makeup look.  However, depending on the timeline of your trial, you may need them touched up before your big day. Please have your brows groomed the week before your wedding! This will ensure that your eyebrows will be perfect for your wedding.

LASHES!  Do you want your lashes to look amazing for your rehearsal dinner, wedding, AND your honeymoon?  Then book an appointment with BEAUTY by Bethany for lash extensions to have lush, full, and dark lashes for ALL of your events.  Your eyes will never look better!  Schedule your appointment before your trial run so you can see how your eyes POP, while fitting together with your wedding day look!

Exchange gifts with your fiancé the night before your wedding or before you makeup application is to begin the day of your wedding. Is it inevitable that your emotions will be running wild with excitement and happiness on your wedding day. It is also inevitable that as soon as I am done doing a bride's makeup in walks someone with a gift for her causing her to cry. It is just easier to get the tears out of the way before your makeup application to make sure it is absolutely fresh and flawless!
